Outreach and Community Engagement Program/Project Management

Mission Statement:

PHP is dedicated to reducing the number of children living in poverty by teaching low-income women, primarily single mothers, how to earn an adequate income through successful employment.  


Program Coordinator: 

The Program Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the People Helping People Employment Program by ensuring a positive and seamless experience for clients, from initial engagement through phase completion. This position is responsible for onboarding new participants, coordinating program activities and events, and implementing strategies that promote client retention and long-term success. The Program Coordinator works closely with clients to provide guidance, maintain consistent communication, coordinate coaching and mentoring activities, encourage workshop and program involvement, and address barriers to participation.


In addition, this role leads efforts to recruit, engage, and support volunteers and community partners, helping to build strong relationships that enhance program delivery and outcomes. The Program Coordinator also represents the organization in the community by conducting outreach activities, including presentations to partner agencies, businesses, and community groups, to increase program awareness and expand referral networks.


Through collaboration, relationship-building, and effective program coordination, the Program Coordinator helps advance the organization’s mission of empowering individuals on their path to sustainable employment.



Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct new client program overviews virtually and 1-1 introductory meetings.
  • Manage new client relationships for weekly coaching appointments and assist with management of volunteer coaches.
  • Provide phone support, resource referrals, employment guidance, etc. to PHP clients.
  • Schedule and manage monthly workshops.
  • Plan and help execute bi-annual client awards programs and other PHP events.
  • Track and report monthly outreach, client, and volunteer activities/outcomes.
  • Track and report client advancement and workshop attendance, including coaching appointments, by demonstrating excellent work ethic and personal interactions.
  • Volunteer management and relationship building.
  • Participate in community events, both virtual and in-person, and assist with program outreach activities.
  • Assist with and attend PHP events for volunteers, employers, agencies, donors, and clients.



Work schedule: Monday/Wednesday 9-5pm, Tuesday/Thursday 11:30am-7:30pm, every other Saturday 8am-12pm. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays are on-site in our SLC office, and Saturdays are work from home remote work. Staff are eligible for remote work on Wednesdays following a 60-day probation period.

This role is expected to be flexible working in Salt Lake, Tooele, Utah, Davis, Weber, Utah, Box Elder, Cache, and Summit counties. Candidate must have a car and clean driving record and be willing to travel as needed each month. PHP offers mileage reimbursement. 



Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of consistent work experience in a similar field and/or customer service.
  • Strong knowledge of GSUITE, Zoom, Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Teams, and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; email and phone etiquette.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce results and meet goals.
  • Clean driving record.
  • High School Diploma or GED

Benefits: PHP offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 100% employer-paid health insurance (medical, vision, and dental) for all full-time staff, six paid holidays, a generous PTO and ATO package (including two weeks off during the Christmas holiday), HSA options, ongoing training, and a performance-based bonus structure.


Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
