Primary Responsibilities

- Supervise clients recovering from substance use disorder at one of our residential facilities for clients with children.
- Ensure client safety and adherence to program policies.
- Monitor the house/facility for proper functioning.
- Complete documentation via electronic health care record system (UWITS) notes for each client in a timely manner.
- Maintain order amongst clients and Recovery Assistant staff, run conflict resolution groups, and generally offer support and teach basic life skills to the female residents in treatment for substance use disorder as well as their children.
- Conduct and document weekly room searches, client inventory checks, and monthly fire drills.
- Provide informative and detail-oriented client notes for the treatment team to review and incorporate into the treatment process.
- Responsible for transporting women individually or in small groups to various appointments and help get their needs met at various community programs in the community, if needed.
- Attend weekly house manager meetings, weekly clinical staff meetings, monthly All Staff meeting, and monthly RA training meeting.
- Facilitate weekly conflict resolution groups with clients and Case Manager(s) to assertively address issues and promote smooth functioning of the house.
- Orient new clients to house schedule, program policies, and procedures.
- Monitor client compliance with curfew, house duties, and other program rule requirements.
- Assign duties to clients, update chore and room assignment lists.
- Employ de-escalation techniques and use crisis management skills to maintain a healthy and safe environment for clients and staff.
- Assist in training new Recovery Assistant staff members on all procedures and rules to ensure smooth functioning of the house.
- Guide and support Recovery Assistants throughout their employment to develop their skills and ensure professional working relations.
- Conduct urine drug tests, as directed by supervisors or clinical staff.
Qualifications, Experience & Skillset
Due to licensing and supervisory requirements, this position is open to FEMALE applicants only. We are looking for a passionate, knowledgeable, and caring individuals who can both complete the following requirements and add to our culture of caring and understanding:
- Be highly motivated to learn and grow.
- Be passionate about helping women (and their young children, ages 0-8) who are working to achieve a healthier life in recovery from substance use disorders.
- Be open to feedback, willing to try new things, and enjoy multi-tasking.
- Be able to model healthy human interaction, coach others on effective communication, and able to stay calm in a crisis.
- Be compassionate but able to set firm limits; communicate in a calm, yet assertive manner.
- Is mature, reliable with excellent communication skills and the ability to set appropriate professional boundaries.
- Has a passion for making a difference in the lives of families in our community. Experience working with mothers and children in a direct care setting and/or have experience working in a treatment program specializing in the area of recovery from substance use disorder(s) is preferred.
- Have basic computer skills and writing ability, as well as good communication and phone skills.
- Have above-average problem-solving skills, conflict-resolution abilities, and above all, a sense of humor!

Agency Requirements
- Non-smoking worksite: no tobacco products allowed.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must pass extensive post-offer, pre-employment background check and drug test.
- If in recovery, must have at least 2+ years of continuous sobriety.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and climb stairs.
- Must have own reliable transportation, current valid driver’s license, clean driving recording, and willing to transport clients in own car or agency vehicles on occasion.
- Must be able to adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality.
- Must have a compassionate and empathetic approach to working with individuals facing substance use and mental health challenges.
Education Required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in field of communications, psychology, business, social work, etc. preferred but not required; experience in similar fields will be accepted in lieu of degree.
Hours & Schedule
Full-time 38 hours/week, Sunday-Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.; and beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Mondays.
Wages & Benefits
$18/hour and benefits package including:
- Employer contributes 80% of single base+ medical insurance premium and 100% of single basic life and long term disability insurance premiums, effective the first of the month following 60 days of employment;
- Voluntary dental, vision, and short term disability insurance, effective first of the month following 60 days of employment;
- Employer-paid Employee Assistance Program;
- 401(k) dollar-for-dollar match up to 5% after 90 days of employment; and
