Relief Advocate

Peace House Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending interpersonal violence, including sexual assault and abuse, in the community through prevention education, outreach, support services and safe housing.
We are currently seeking a part-time Relief Advocate to support individuals and families residing in our safe housing programs. We are committed to hiring coworkers with no direct experience and developing them into experts in supporting survivors of interpersonal violence.
Wage information: Hourly position – Starting at $20+/hour DOE, plus a 5% language differential for bilingual Spanish/English abilities.
JOB TYPE: Part-time
SCHEDULE: Weekdays 9am-5pm for approximately the first 2 weeks during onboarding and training with an ongoing schedule to be determined with supervisor based on coverage needs. Relief advocate will have one regularly scheduled shift each week and remaining hours will be scheduled to accommodate absences, workload increases, and other departmental needs. Open availability is preferred, as available shifts may be day, swing, overnights, and weekends to accommodate 24/7 hours of operation. Schedules are posted 4 weeks in advance.

Peace House provides comprehensive training on domestic violence, sexual assault as well as many other topics pertinent to working with survivors and promoting the safety of those we serve and our community.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Client Services (Training provided)
· Education of clients on domestic violence and sexual assault
· Answering hotline/helpline calls
· Offering services
· Providing referrals
· Crisis de-escalation and management
· Facilitating client intakes and exits
· Reinforcement of shelter guidelines
Housing Facilities
· Minor shelter maintenance and cleaning
· Lifting up to 50 lbs.
· Monitoring security
· Each advocate may have additional individual facilities responsibilities assigned based on strengths
Record Keeping and Data Entry
· Enter client records and program data
· Monitoring client files
· Documentation of all client interactions
· Training documentation
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with agency staff

REPORTS TO: Shelter Coordinator, Residential Services
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Must pass a background check as required for state licensing
2) High School Diploma
3) First Aid/CPR certification or ability to become certified
4) Computer Literacy
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Passionate about facilitation real and lasting change in the lives of others
· Bi-lingual (Spanish preferred)
WORK LOCATION: Park City, UT
This position requires on-site attendance at our community-based Emergency
Shelter and is not eligible for telecommuting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Ability to lift 50lbs.
· Ability to perform routine cleaning requiring lifting, bending and repetitive movements.
