Remote - Grants & Contracts/Research Administrator/Sponsored Projects Officer
OSP is looking for a qualified grants research administrator/compliance officer to manage the grants and contracts process from proposal submission through closeout, including outgoing foreign and domestic subawards, on the Federal and Foundation Grants and Contracts team. https://osp.utah.edu/about/hiring.php
This Sponsored Projects Officer (SPO) will:
- Interpret complex federal (and other prime type) agreements
- Review and interpret rules and guidelines for proposals and awards
- Review, negotiate and accept grant and contract awards and agreements on behalf of the University
- Draft and/or review outgoing subawards and amendments ensuring proper flow-down of terms
Preferred qualifications include:
- Certified Research Administrator (CRA)
- Demonstrated ability to comprehend administrative and regulatory issues
- Substantial knowledge of federal agency policies, regulations, and application requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs)
- Familiarity with electronic proposal/submission management systems
- Strong problem solving, organizational, reading comprehension, and communication skills
Preference will be given to qualified candidates who live in-state. Highly qualified candidates who live within the U.S. are also encouraged and will be considered. Salary range is negotiable for exceptional candidates.
As part of the OSP team, you'll provide centralized research administration support and expert technical guidance across the grant life cycle while bridging compliance, transparency, professional/principled advice, and customer-centricity.
