Resource Development Specialist
Location: Provo, UT

Are you passionate about strengthening your community and building meaningful relationships? United Way of Utah County is seeking a dedicated Resource Development Specialist to join our team.
United Way of Utah County is a nonprofit serving our local community. We provide afterschool programs, connect families to housing or healthcare assistance, lead mental health training for teachers and parents, bring the community together through volunteerism, and much more.
We are seeking a dedicated and outgoing Resource Development Specialist to join our team, supporting our fundraising efforts and helping deepen connections with individual donors across the county. In this role, you’ll help donors understand the vital impact of their contributions, coordinating engaging fundraising strategies like direct mail, employee giving campaigns, and community events to enhance individual giving.

Job Responsibilities:
Grow Leadership-Level Giving: Develop and implement strategies to increase giving from leadership-level donors ($1,000+), coordinate employee giving campaigns within local businesses, and engage donors in targeted communities within Utah County.
Deepen Donor Relationships: Cultivate lasting relationships with leadership donors by meeting with donors and providing impactful updates and communications that demonstrate the difference their gifts make.
Event Coordination: Lead the vision for the annual Leadership Donor event, ensuring a memorable experience that inspires continued support.
Support Major Giving Initiatives: Assist the Manager of Individual Philanthropy on projects targeting major donors.
Coordinate Direct Mail Campaigns: Manage outreach efforts for year-end and other giving periods, focusing on individual donors.
Engage Emerging Leaders: Work with young professionals through the Emerging Leaders Society to encourage involvement in volunteerism and philanthropy.
Volunteer & Donation Coordination: Support the Resource Development team in managing in-kind and monetary donation opportunities to benefit United Way programs.
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Sales or fundraising experience preferred
Experience with Salesforce or CRMs is preferred but not required
Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel throughout Utah County.
Must be willing and able to work outside the 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM weekday timeframe, as needed
Proactive, flexible, and not afraid of rejection
Proficient in Word, Excel, email platforms, and general computer skills
Preference will be given to candidates with previous broad knowledge of Utah County (nonprofits, volunteer activities, businesses, school districts, etc.)
Benefits and Compensation: Full-time (40 hours per week): $19-22 per hour, dependent on experience
United Way of Utah County is an Equal Opportunity Employer. This is a full-time hourly position–compensation depends on experience. Benefits include medical and dental insurance, vision insurance, FSA/HSA account options, paid holidays, sick leave and vacation leave, 401(K) benefits with company match, and life and disability insurance.
Work Schedule: Typically, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday (Full-time; 40 hrs. /week). Will be expected to work evenings and weekends as needed to cover various events.
Physical Activity: In the course of performing this job, the incumbent typically spends time sitting, walking, standing, listening, speaking, writing and operating a personal computer. Frequently, he/she will be required to drive an automobile to attend meetings or events within the community. Occasionally, he/she is expected to lift and carry office records and supplies up to 15 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties of the job.
