Rural Initiatives & Partnerships Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY: The UDVC Rural Initiatives & Partnerships Coordinator (RIPC) develops and supports statewide strategies—grounded in UDVC’s current grant goals and objectives—to strengthen prevention, intervention, and coordinated responses to domestic violence, with a primary focus on rural communities. The RIPC provides training, technical assistance, and consultation to multidisciplinary partners while promoting survivor-centered, culturally responsive, and risk-informed practices that improve safety, access, and accountability across systems.
Through cross-sector partnership-building and collaborative workgroup facilitation, the RIPC supports systems change efforts and equity-driven approaches that reduce barriers for marginalized communities. This position also leads grant-funded projects, monitors deliverables, supports reporting requirements, and contributes to continuous quality improvement to ensure impactful and sustainable outcomes statewide.
Current grant initiatives include (but are not limited to): strengthening system-level partnerships to advance best practices for strangulation intervention, children’s services advocacy support and workgroup co-facilitation, collaborative planning and ongoing coordination of a rural outreach workgroup, and assisting the Training Program Coordinator with Core Advocacy Training.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategy & Policy:
○ Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of statewide strategies that promote safety, access, and accountability in response to domestic violence.
○ Promote policies and practices that reflect survivor-centered, culturally responsive, and risk-informed approaches to addressing domestic violence.
○ Demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing equity, reducing systemic harm, and supporting empowerment-based care models.
2. Partnership & Collaboration:
○ Foster and maintain cross-sector partnerships to strengthen coordinated responses; this could include advocacy, healthcare, criminal-legal, and community-based systems.
○ Contribute to the design and facilitation of collaborative workgroups and multidisciplinary initiatives aimed at improving DV prevention and response efforts across Utah.
○ Collaborate with internal teams to support alignment between programs, improve resource sharing, and contribute to broader coalition efforts, including organizational training efforts.
○ Participate in organizational planning and coalition-wide meetings to ensure perspectives of grant-partnered programs are integrated across initiatives.
3. Training & Technical Assistance:
○ Provide ongoing technical assistance, including site visits, training, and consultation on best practices and response to domestic violence survivors.
○ Provide training to multidisciplinary teams which include but are not limited to law enforcement, court and judicial staff, and victim advocates.
4. Project & Grant Management:
○ Lead, plan, and execute projects specific to assigned grant goals & objectives.
○ Monitor and track deliverables, support reporting requirements, and contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts.
○ Perform other duties as assigned by UDVC leadership.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
● Experience in a domestic or sexual violence-related advocacy. Direct service provision and experience with UDVC’s service providers preferred.
● Demonstrated experience (minimum three years) in program management/development.
● Proven ability to train and instruct individuals or groups on specific projects or processes.
● Demonstrated ability to develop and manage cooperative relations with a diverse group of individuals, organizations, government agencies and community partners; maintaining confidentiality.
● Knowledge or familiarity of state and federal grants, reporting and service deliverables.
● In-depth understanding of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, stalking, and trauma-informed, culturally responsive practices. Demonstrated commitment to addressing systemic oppression and barriers faced by marginalized communities, including Utah’s Native Tribes, LGBTQ+, and plural family communities.
● Skills:
o Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
o Strong attention to detail, high-quality program development, and effective team collaboration.
o Proficiency in technology: Microsoft Office Suite® (Word®, Excel®, PowerPoint®), Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Forms, Sheets, Slides), Zoom®, and other business software.
o Experience with report design and formatting; Canva or similar design tools preferred.
o Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
o Ability to gather and summarize data and to design, prepare, and format reports.
o Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
● Willingness and ability to travel within Utah and occasionally work evenings or weekends.
● Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance.
● Bilingual or multilingual skills preferred.
