Social Media/Marketing Contractor

Approximately 10-15 hours per week, flexible scheduling
Starting pay: $18.00/hour
Mountain West Mothers’ Milk Bank (MWMMB) is a nonprofit organization, a 501(c)(3), established in 2014 by Utah clinicians who had a vision to better meet the needs of babies and their families in their own communities. MWMMB is a member of the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA). MWMMB collects and processes donor human milk for distribution to medically fragile infants in area hospitals.
MWMMB has a goal to maintain enough reserve donor milk to quickly fill any hospital order for the seven types of pasteurized donor human milk we provide.

Job Overview
MWMMB is seeking a passionate and creative Part-Time Social Media Coordinator to enhance our online presence. This Part-Time Social Media Coordinator would engage with our community in order to raise awareness of the organization, the work, and those we serve. This position will create content; manage our social media platforms, website content and newsletter/email copy while developing strategies to educate and advance awareness about our mission and services. This person will report to the Executive Director of MWMMB working in collaboration with the Board Chair or board designee.
Key Responsibilities:
● Develop and implement a social media strategy to increase organization and donation awareness and engagement in the community.
● Create engaging content for various platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn) that aligns with our mission and resonates with our audience.
● Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and engage with followers to foster a supportive community.
● Collaborate with staff to gather stories, testimonials, and updates that highlight the impact of our work.
● Responsible for creating accurate communication and would need to work within a structure with guardrails.
● Willingness to learn the correct nomenclature and messaging.
● Assist in developing and maintaining a content calendar for social media platforms, newsletters and website copy to ensure consistent posting and messaging.
Qualifications:
● Proven experience in social media management, preferably for a nonprofit or health-related organization
● Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
● Solid editing and presentation skills
● Creative and innovative
● Ability to design and create posts using Canva or other creative software
● Familiarity with social media analytics tools and ability to interpret data
● Passion for maternal and infant health issues and commitment to our mission
● Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
