Social Media & Marketing Coordinator
Job Title: Social Media & Marketing Coordinator
Job Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Relationships: Works with all departments
Location: Tracy Aviary at Liberty Park and Tracy Aviary Nature Center at Pia Okwai. Some remote work is possible.
Compensation: $43,000 to $46,000 per year
Benefits: Access to Health Insurance, Paid time off, Sick leave, access to 401k retirement after 1 year.
Schedule: Typically Tuesday through Saturday. Schedule also needs to be flexible to accommodate being present for events and other programs that may happen after hours, weekends, and holidays.
Job Summary: Tracy Aviary is seeking a Social Media & Marketing Coordinator to develop, monitor, and improve engagement across several social media platforms. The Social Media Coordinator will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including staff, consultants, and partners, to help the public engage with Tracy Aviary’s social media and ultimately its mission: In partnership with community, inspiring action to conserve birds and habitats.
General Responsibilities:
Social Media: - 50%
Create and manage a comprehensive social media platform-specific strategic plans and calendar for Tracy Aviary, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, BlueSky, and YouTube
Generate social media content both independently and in collaboration with other departments
Coordinate with other departments to ensure social media content is factual and timely
Write, edit, finalize, and approve effective social media copy
Generate live, on-site content (i.e. reels, stories, lives) for special events, ticket sales, and promotions - act as the face of this content, communicate directly with the audience both on and off camera
Track and report on social media engagement and growth across all platforms
Keep and manage social media logins, passwords, and collaborator access
Monitor and respond to social media comments, DMs, and inquiries
Marketing Communications - 25%
Generate content both independently and in collaboration with other departments
Coordinate with other departments to ensure factual information
Creation of graphics for marketing
Write, edit, finalize, and approve effective copy
Manage the Maichimp audiences and tag emails appropriately.
Maintain and regularly update the website to reflect current programs and events.
Photo and Video - 10%
Support in the creation of video content and photography
Support in managing the library of photo and video content, including assisting in organizing and tagging images on Flickr
Tracy Aviary has a camera for this position.
Other - 15%
Monitor, manage, share, and respond to guest inquiry emails as needed
Collaborate with and implement recommendations from external marketing & communications consultants.
Represent the Aviary in news media and other outlets as needed
Communicate and coordinate with a variety of stakeholders.

Excellent written, verbal, and social media engagement skills.
Previous experience in managing an organization’s social media or demonstrated experience managing social media on numerous platforms
Community-minded and mission-focused individual with experience working with diverse groups that have a variety of wants and needs
Ability to take initiative and produce results
Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of audiences
Up-to-date computer skills and the capacity to learn new systems
An on-site presence is required
Bilingual (ideally English and Spanish) is a highly preferred
Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Suite, and Mailchimp is a plus
Some experience with website editing using WordPress or a willingness to learn
