Reports to: Executive Director
Overview: Craft Lake City is looking for a DIY Festival Stage Manager who will help ensure smooth operation of the Craft Lake City stages during the DIY Festival, coordinating with the sound engineers, MCs, performers, and our Executive Director. You’ll also get the chance to work with a supportive team of individuals and volunteers that allow Craft Lake City to create a unique festival for our community.
This is a seasonal, contract position with a weekly time commitment of up to 7 hours the week of 8/4–8/7, the specifics of which will be determined upon hiring. The DIY Festival Stage Manager is required to be onsite for the duration of the DIY Festival (August 8, 9 and 10) 12 to 15 hours each day, so working long hours in extreme heat are factors you should consider and keep in mind when applying for this position.
Qualifications:
- Must have previous stage management experience
- Exceptional organizational skills & self-discipline
- Desire to be involved in producing a creative experience for exhibitors and patrons alike
- HONESTY—ability to accept responsibility when mistakes are made
- Ability to access email 2–3 times a day and respond in a timely manner
- Knows how to spell “team player” without an “I” or “me”
- An interest in expanding the inclusion of our community through the maker movement
- Ability to perform under stress; stress management skills
- Ability to manage crowds
- Must be friendly and attentive
- Must have impeccable customer service skills
- Must be able to lift and carry 15-50 lbs
- Must be able to stand on their feet for upwards of 10 hours a day
- Must be able to endure summer temperatures of 90 degrees and above
Requirements:
- Must attend all staff meetings
- Must be available to work minimal hours leading up to the festival
- Must be able to commit to working the DIY Festival weekend, Friday, August 8, Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10, 2025
