Job Title: UCS Manager                                                                                                 FLSA Status: FTE Exempt, Salaried


Department: Unified Champion Schools (UCS)                                                    Reports To: Director of UCS


Position Overview: This position supports the implementation of Unified Champion Schools strategies throughout Utah, including Unified Sports, inclusive leadership, and whole-school engagement. Unified Champion Schools is an inclusive sports/play program for children with and without intellectual disabilities. 

 

Primary Duties:

Engage with school leaders, such as principals, teachers, and the PTA, to maintain existing Unified Champion Schools.

Coordinate with state office staff on Unified Champion Schools' involvement in special events.

Activate youth, school, and local community programs, as well as local community and corporate programs, to further the mission of Unified Champion Schools and Young Athletes.

Collaborate with UCS staff in collecting participation data from schools for annual grant reporting and applications for Federal OSEP grants.

Support the planning and implementation of UCS events.

Provide ongoing communication and support to school liaisons.

Maintain current athlete, partner, and volunteer registration in the Games Management System (“GMS”) software and Softr.

Oversee athlete/team/school registration for UCS events.

Track completion of school staff training and certifications.

Support the UCS team to complete monthly reports on UCS activity and expenses.

Other duties as assigned by the Director of Unified Champion Schools and/or President/CEO.


Qualifications and Requirements

Demonstrated ability to work proactively in an inclusive organization.

Proven interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Commitment to providing a high level of customer service.

Must be organized and detail-oriented and can prioritize and manage multiple projects.

Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress, and crises.

Effective problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to share skills and knowledge with others.

Able to work independently with limited supervision.

Ability and willingness to work multiple nights/weekends and travel throughout Utah and, on occasion, out of state.

Demonstrated experience with PC-based networks and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and its applications.

Ability to lift 30 pounds – setting up for events can require strength and stamina.

Must have own reliable transportation and auto insurance.


Salary & Benefits:

Salary commensurate with experience. The hiring range for this position is $52,000 – 57,000

Medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time employees.

SIMPLE IRA with company contribution and match (up to 3%).

Ten paid vacation days during the first year of employment.

Nine paid holidays and a paid winter break week (December 24 – January 1).

Hybrid in-office, remote work


Evaluation:

After 90 days and then annually.
