Utah Division of Arts & Museums Arts Education Program Manager

The Arts Education Program Manager supports the Division’s vision of inspiring and connecting people and communities through Utah’s arts and museums to encourage a vibrant and culturally engaged state. In this role, the individual will represent the Utah Division of Arts & Museums (UA&M) by developing division-wide arts education programming, collaborations and partnerships, and contributing to regional and national arts education associations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the arts education services of UA&M
- Assess, develop and evaluate current and future Arts Education programming, collaborations and partnerships
- Support UA&M’s mission, vision and values by actively participating in UA&M leadership and staff meetings, retreats, strategic planning, board meetings as requested, and department gatherings
- Supervise arts education staff members, including: hiring, training, monitoring and evaluating performance
- Develop and oversee arts education budget
- Collaborate with other UA&M programs to advance arts education opportunities and division goals
- Coordinate and support arts education professional development organizations and statewide arts education organizations
- Manage arts education partnership service agreements
- Actively participate in state, regional and national arts education forums
- Remain current on prevailing arts education research and thought leaders in the field
- Oversee arts education programming (such as Utah Poetry Out Loud and the Arts Education Roster)
- Support the integration of health & wellness programming
- Other duties as assigned
- Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills

- Leadership experience in project management and collaborative partnerships
- Excellent communication skills; oral, written, and public speaking
- Experience and or training in a creative discipline such as creative writing, dance, film/media, folk & traditional arts, music, visual arts
- Professional background as an educator within a school/university in an artistic discipline, or in an organization (museum, artistic company, professional arts association)
- Commitment to promoting an arts education culture that exemplifies values of respect, integrity, and belonging
- Experience in data collection and program evaluation

Position is full-time, with an anticipated starting wage between $34 - $39 per hour, requires residency in Utah, and work at the SLC office with some flexible telework options and statewide travel.
