Vice President of Operations
For more than a quarter-century, Envision Utah has brought Utahns together to solve the state’s toughest growth-related challenges and create a bright future for everyone. Our work spans issues from land-use and transportation to education, air quality, water, early learning, and more.
Envision Utah is seeking to expand our ability to achieve our mission by creating a Vice President of Operations position. The organization is looking for a mission-focused, strategic, process-minded leader with skills and experience managing people and developing a supportive culture that generates results.
Responsibilities
The VP of Operations is responsible for ensuring that the goals and objectives of the organization are being met consistent with the direction of the CEO and in collaboration with other members of the management team. Specific responsibilities include
- Identify and implement strategies and processes to implement the strategic five-year plan, working in partnership with the CEO and other members of the management team.
- Lead the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against goals for the organization.
- Oversee the development of people:
- Provide a strong day-to-day leadership presence.
- Lead the development of goals, metrics, and evaluation tools and processes.
- Cultivate the values of Envision Utah within the organization.
- Upgrade human resources functions including recruiting, onboarding, professional development, advancement, salary and bonus structures, and succession planning.
- Elevate the employee culture and serve as the point of contact for hearing and addressing employee concerns.
- Oversee the financial and accounting processes including managing employee benefits, accounting, and budgeting
- Work with the CEO, Development Director, and other members of the management team to ensure adequate funds for Envision Utah’s programs.
Key Qualifications
As a prerequisite, the successful candidate must be driven by the mission of Envision Utah and believe in the value of fostering collaboration to solve complex problems. Beyond that, we are seeking a candidate who has proven experience in managing the operations of an organization and a demonstrated ability both to lead and to build the capabilities of a driven, bright, diverse team.
Additional requirements are:
- Proven track record of creating processes that generating result
- Good judgment, problem-solving, and project management acumen
- Exceptional capacity for managing and leading people; a team builder who has the capacity to connect with staff, enforce accountability, and develop and empower highly effective team members
- Thorough understanding of finance, information systems, and human resources
An undergraduate degree is required; an MBA or similar advanced degree is highly desired.
Compensation
Envision Utah is prepared to offer an attractive compensation package that includes a base salary of $130,000–170,000 as well as a competitive benefits package.
