Wish Coordinator
ABOUT MAKE-A-WISH UTAH
Make-A-Wish Utah creates life-changing wishes for children with critical medical conditions. On average a wish is granted every weekday for a Utah child. Wishes provide hope that is an integral part of a child’s treatment process that improves medical outcomes and quality of life.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Assists the Chief Program Officer in all phases of the wish process, with particular attention to planning and execution of travel and non-travel wishes, helping to maintain wish files and financial records and assisting with communication with wish granting volunteers and wish families.
KEY POSITION REPONSIBLITIES
• Plans Disneyland, Disney World, and other travel and non-travel wishes.
• Available by phone to handle travel wish situations/emergencies as they arise.
• Tracks the progress of wishes and the attendant paperwork.
• Maintains positive relationships and regular contact with wish granting volunteers, keeping them apprised of wish status, coaching and supporting their progress, and requesting regular updates on wishes in progress.
• Assists in securing in-kind donations and services for assigned types of wishes.
• Ensures that National and Chapter policies and guidelines are enforced while delivering empowering wishes to clients.
• Assists with maintaining wish data in Salesforce computer information system.
• Assists with closing out wish files ensuring that they are complete and in compliance with National and Chapter Standards.
• Stays on top of all office and paperwork associated with the position.
• Occasional weekend and evening work is required.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field (this may include, but is not limited to: Psychology, Social Work, Nonprofit Management) or 5 years or more of relevant job experience.
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and communication skills are essential
- Must have the ability to multi-task and track many details at once
- Must be able to work with many different audiences, including wish families, volunteers, vendors, and donors
- Bilingual Spanish Language Speaker preferred and increased compensation considered
