Films on Food at Farms

Description
Slow Food Utah invites you to Films on Food at Farms, an event celebrating a local urban farm with a special screening of Gather at Green Urban Lunch Box in South Salt Lake on September 5th. This event is brought to you by Slow Food Utah, with generous support from the Whole Foods Community Giving Program and the Utah Film Center. Details including the farm address and parking instructions will be included with your virtual ticket.
Purchase a ticket here! Tickets are $10, with proceeds benefiting Green Urban Lunchbox and the Slow Food Utah microgrant fund.
Event Schedule:
- 7:15 PM: Farm Tour (included with ticket)
- 7:30 PM: Picnic Arrivals (Order through our Event Brite link)
- 7:45 PM: Film Screening
About the Film: Join us for the Salt Lake City screening of Gather, an intimate portrait of the growing movement amongst Native Americans to reclaim their spiritual, political and cultural identities through food sovereignty, while battling the trauma of centuries of genocide. About Green Urban Lunch Box: Green Urban Lunch Box, located in South Salt Lake, Utah, is a working urban farm with a mission to empower people to connect to food and their community by revitalizing urban spaces and building a resilient food culture. Among other projects, GULB operates a farm apprenticeship program, manages Salt Lake City’s fruit share program and creates programs that address food access and security. They also deliver a weekly CSA from the farm .
Slow Food Snail of Approval: The Snail of Approval recognizes food and beverage establishments that practice Slow Food values, such as sourcing, environmental impact, cultural connection, community involvement, staff support, and business values. This designation is determined by local chapters and serves as a guide to find businesses committed to these principles.

- Vegan Sandwich Picnic Box – Picnic Box from Central 9th Market includes: Sandwich with mushroom conserva, shaved fennel, house pickles, local greens, pepper spread and mustard on wood-fired focaccia and side salad with house vinaigrette.
