Get outside with your kids while supporting early childhood education! Wonderbloom Nature Playschool will host its Sixth Annual Wonderwalk to Bell Canyon Reservoir on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. The community fundraising event engages families with young children in outdoor exploration and nature-based activities while raising support for Wonderbloom’s nonprofit early childhood education programs. The event will feature a variety of interactive experiences designed to connect children with the natural environment, including: Wildlife Watching – Children will create simple binoculars to aid in spotting wildlife along the trail. Scavenger Hunt – Families will receive a scavenger hunt to encourage observation and discovery. Stories & Songs – At the reservoir, participants will gather for nature-themed stories and music. Bird Walk – At 10:30 a.m., Ms. Lianna, Wonderbloom’s Director who also serves on the Greater Salt Lake Audubon board, will lead a guided bird walk at the reservoir. “Wonderwalk provides families with an opportunity to experience the benefits of nature-based learning firsthand,” said Sarah Stone, Executive Director of Wonderbloom. “It also supports our mission to make early childhood education in nature available to children from all backgrounds.” A $20 per family donation is suggested. Donations of any amount are welcomed and will directly benefit Wonderbloom’s programs, including providing scholarships to children from families in need. Families who contribute any amount will receive the gift of a sticker or pin. A $10 donation will get a Snack Pack provided by Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods. $20 or more will be entered into a prize drawing with great items.
