Nonprofit Credential in Finance and Legal

Thursday, August 15, 2024 9:30 AM - Wednesday, August 28, 2024 3:30 PM (MDT)

Description

Are you confident that every single one of your nonprofit’s financial and legal responsibilities is being met? In addition to these nonnegotiable responsibilities, your organization must also demonstrate accountability and transparency, model ethical behavior, and effectively manage financial resources. If these topics raise questions, concerns, or curiosity, you should attend the Nonprofit Credential in Finance and Legal.

The Credential in Finance and Legal provides you with both a framework and support to ensure that your organization is meeting its professional and legal responsibilities. The Credential includes:

  • Two days of online training sessions that deliver essential information synthesized into manageable and understandable pieces.
  • Guidance, instruction, and coaching from attorneys and accountants (Subject-Matter-Experts or SMEs) with deep knowledge of financial and legal oversight for nonprofits.
  • Consultations and ongoing support from SMEs with specific feedback tailored for your organization's practices, processes, and operations.
  • Resources including templates, sample documents, and guidance on best practices.
  • Step-by-step instructions to guide the integration, adaptation, and application of course material to your organization, focused on legal and financial requirements and best practices.
  • A Credential Badge in Finance and Legal, earned for your nonprofit upon successful completion of the Credential course requirements.

This Credential will help you:

  • Ensure your organization meets its legal obligations and understands how to protect donor information, follow donor intent, and provide tax receipts to donors as applicable.
  • Understand how to create the necessary documentation to show sound financial practices and timely reporting.
  • Integrate best practices regarding technology, data collection, and retention of personnel information.

Note: The Nonprofit Credential program is for 501(c) organizations only.
