Nonprofit Credential in Leadership and Organizational Culture

Nonprofit Credential in Leadership and Organizational Culture

Monday, November 4, 2024 9:30 AM - Wednesday, November 6, 2024 3:30 PM (MST)

Description

Culture creates alignment. Nonprofit organizations gain momentum when their employees and board members are aligned—moving in the same direction toward the same goal. Organizational culture also connects an employee's work to a purpose and supports professional growth.

As nonprofit leaders, we feel called to serve the mission of our organizations. We seek to achieve a vision of change that is needed in our community and we are driven by values that guide the way we do our work. Effective leadership means creating a productive culture in an organization.

This course is not meant to be formulaic or prescriptive, but rather interactive and driven by who you are as a leader and what you bring to the table to enhance your leadership journey and the culture of your organization. The course also aims to create a cohort of nonprofit leaders that motivate, learn from, and support each other.

Key points of the course will address:

  1. Leadership styles and growth plans
  2. Organizational culture and staff development
  3. Equity and inclusion goals in everyday practice
  4. Board/staff partnerships.
  5. The interplay of Operational Policies, Procedures, and Cultural Norms
  6. Marketing, Fundraising, and Partnerships alignment
  7. Public and internal expression of the mission, vision, and core values
  8. Financial documents as a numerical expression of an organization's values

Leadership and Organizational Culture is one of nine offerings in the Nonprofit Credential Program.

Online Classroom Training Sessions
Your subject-matter-expert/consultant will lead you and your peer nonprofit leaders through two days of online training. To get the most out of this training, we ask you to please complete the participant survey in its entirety (due one week prior to the training). You will receive the survey two weeks prior to the first session. It is our objective to tailor this training to your needs; the more our subject-matter-expert/consultant knows about you, the more you will get out of it.

One-on-One Consultation
You'll meet with the subject-matter-expert and receive specific feedback and coaching on your organization's culture and leadership.

Successful participation means that you’ll develop a leadership and organizational development plan and timeline based on the principles explored in the Credential. Consider which areas of your personal growth you would like to work on. What resources will you need to accomplish this? How will you acquire donor and board support to achieve the objectives of your plan and timeline? What cultural shifts would you like to see in how your team meets community needs?
